Evening @ a traffic jam (the funny side of life)

It all started on a winter evening at 5:15 PM – when I left office to go home. It was one of the best evening this winter – cool breeze hit my face and I was happy, content that I will be going home early. But that wasn’t gonna happen – no not today.

The bus driver turned on the ignition, we – the passengers of route 1 – left the office.

To our horror, there was a traffic jam just few yards from our office. We all thought this is no big deal and it will dissolve in no time, but that wasn’t gonna happen – no not today.

For the first half hour, we moved slowly with no respite to our worries (worries of being stuck in the traffic for a long time).

I cursed, I changed my position in the seat several times, felt totally disgusted frustrated about being here at a traffic jam.

Then, I suppose, the inner voice of one of the colleague awakened, he asked the driver to take a U-turn and take a different route.

I rejoiced – thinking ill reach home early and there won’t be much traffic the other side. Everyone in the bus too felt happy for the suggestion. But that wasn’t gonna happen, no not today.

It was the same condition this side too. “Traffic traffic everywhere, vehicles all are stuck; Traffic traffic everywhere, ”

Now the song “mujhe mat rook… mujhe mere ghar (its yaar in the original song – changed it a little – he he he) jaane do was playing on the my i-pod..

Listening to this I felt more sad and more frustrated – mujhe mat roko….

Then I thought about god – the creator himself – appeared in front of us and he spoke – “o dear children on mine, have patience, for patience is the virtue of a manav (who manav I thought for a moment and then realized he was talking about us – the human being), you shall all find the way…” and then phooosh he was gone…

I saw my watch and it was more than an hour had passed by in this traffic jam. The same song was still playing and I had no mood to even listen to it, so I changed the song… then I looked out of the window and to my surprise the traffic jam had indeed dissolved and the bus moved freely towards the evening horizon.

I thank god and listened to the song being played on my i-pod – hum jo chalne lage, haan chalne lage, yeh raaste manzil se behtr yeh raste – just made me smile and then I slept without any disturbance – reached home good one hour late, yet reached home to find the dinner, made by mother, was ready…

Heavy Load of life

I saw this scene while I was returning back to my home the day before – I saw an auto-rickshaw (tri-wheeler in India used abundantly – no matter what’s the person status, once in his/her life, he/she would have ridden in this amazing vehicle of India) with heavy load of goods in it, because of which the driver could hardly maneuver the vehicle.

Then this thought stuck my mind – no matter what happens we alone have to carry the "load" – the "load of life" no matter how difficult it is to maneuver. All that we need to keep in mind - what vehicle we are using and how fast can we do it.

What do you think?

In life, we are destined to carry a certain amount of "load" – some common to all and the rest of it specific to each one of us.

Hey, now don’t raise your eye brow – I am not a philosopher or some sadhu-baba (monk) but this is what I have believed in and what my parents have been telling me since childhood.

But my parents (as per their parents’ teachings and the generations before them) have also teach me that the “goods load” will reduce as and when you do a good work/job – like: help the needy, be truthful to oneself and others, be happy and make others happy, never waste food, never waste the natural resources etc etc.

Oh ok chuck that, my philosophical words are bugging you – then think for yourself – helping the needy, being truthful, not wasting the natural resources are some easy tasks that can be taken care of without any trouble, right?

Then let’s carry our "loads" gracefully and let’s lessen it as and when the opportunity knocks.

You are with me in this right?

Have you ever felt this?

Have you ever felt this?

Have you ever been in a situation/day where you have no flow of thoughts? The whole mind is blank without any emotions – happiness or sadness – Just blank.

No ideas no words no thoughts no worries no happiness. Just feel like staring at a thing but not thinking about anything.

What I am trying to ask is here is that have you ever felt totally blank – not knowing what to do. In fact, I am not able to explain this state of mind right now. Not able to put the exact feeling and words so that I could explain this.

I am not new to this state of mind though. Yet I cannot explain it.

Since I have nothing to blog today, I will finish my blog here.

The most difficult task

The most difficult task

What would be most difficult task for any person in this world? – Such difficult one that no one can even achieve 25% of it.

Any guesses?
According to me, the most difficult task – at least for me – would be explaining colors to the blind and music to the deaf. Do you agree with me?
Think…

There are so many colors that I, you – normal human – can see. If anyone asks me – it’s the colors and the music that I cherish the most in my life. Even animals cannot see colors other than black and white…

Imagine how would you explain Red Rose or white snow or blue sky? I would not get any words to explain the colors. While I am writing my blog here, I am thinking if there was a blind person in front of me right now, how would I explain the magic of colors? – gold, red, blue, silver decorations hanging on the Christmas tree; the colors splashed on loved ones on Holi festival; color of kingfisher diving inside water; green grasshopper in the lawns; beautiful multi-colored butterfly sitting on a lavender flower … ???
Similarly the music one hears all around – guitars being played; sound of the drums; singers singing; birds humming; the sound of the breeze on a silent moonless night….
Can you explain these things and be successful in doing it?

I agree, with the on-going trend in technology there is no disease or disability that cannot be cured but I am talking about the acute blind; total blind/deaf – which cannot be cured…

Sometimes, whenever I in trouble I used to always ask god – why me? why I am at the end of everything bad like this? – but now I think I shall not question god. I thank him for providing me all the senses right in place (at least now they are in place :) ) and with this I make my new year resolution that I will become a part of the NGO (Non-Government Organization) to help for the betterment of the needy.
What about you ?

Best day of my life

Best day of my life:

This is an open question to the readers – how would you describe the best day of your life? Just one day – one moment that you would always cherish for the rest of your life?

Take a minute and think…!!

For me it’s today – 3rd January 2008. The day which I think I will cherish for the rest of my life.

My blog was read by the person - who is the best critic (in good sense though) for me (no matter anything in my life), who is my best friend, whom I love the most, for whom I look upon as a support.

Infact, I never expected positive comments (LOL :)) ), but I am so happy in one way that my thoughts, my write-ups reached the correct place, ATLAST.

This blog-post I dedicate it to that special person, from whom I shall expect more critics so that I can improve in whatever I do…

“Thanks a lot… I appreciate it… Thanks for making my day – today 3rd January 3, 2008”

So think a while you react to someone

Top technologies which I came across and liked the most

This is my first blog on the technologies in the industry. I always feel I cannot write huge blogs about the technologies since I haven’t been into any technology completely – inspite of the fact that I have worked with most of the on-going development in networks, embedded, database and ERP.
With this minute knowledge I will give my opinion of the technologies that I came across this year and which I liked the most.

  • Firstly, beginning of the year 2007 made me get familiar with Second life concept (matter of fact even now I cannot move around with ease in the Second life). But its amazing and it’s the zillion-th time that I created a new user and downloaded the Second life software but on the 30th of Dec 2007, I made up my mind and created a user that I have been using since then (it is not quite long back – just 2-3 days back I did this : ))). The concept of second life is too good and that I am so impressed. I was flying in air the other and was searching for civilization and met up a few people. Very interesting. One should definitely give “second life” a try :) (http://www.secondlife.com)
  • Secondly was the internet album called as flickr.com where I am active. I am a photographer-in-the-making and this was the best place where my thoughts were encouraged. :) In this site, one can upload the pics (unique snaps clicked) and share it with people around. If you don’t get the comments you always wanted (just like “wow nice snap or 50-80 comments by your fans) you can see the number of views each photograph had and this – trust me – will boost your spirits and you would feel like taking more snaps and experimenting with your camera. (give this a try www.flickr.com and you can also check out my site on flickr : http://www.flickr.com/photos/14527150@N02/ still amateur in photography but I AM NOT BAD :) and you should, must check this guy’s snaps – wow just amazing… http://www.flickr.com/photos/kwerfeldein/)
  • Beginning of the year 2007, I got the best gifts. It was a Nikon Coolpix S9 and Apple ipod. Looking at and using both these, I wonder – wow – where the technology is leading. Just amazing. The i-pod shuffle is just so small, so compact yet with all the features. And about the digi-cam from Nikon – just mindblowing. With this camera itself, I have been taking snaps and trust me one should have a camera wherever he/she goes. This point may sound silly to some but having a digi-cam of my own and that to from Nikon made it was just like a dream come true.
  • I worked as an intern in a company where I could work on Solaris and it is the OS which one has to give it a try. It’s good. But I don’t recommend this OS to those who are comfortable with MS Windows – one will definitely get lost in there and ofcourse get frustrated of using the OS. But in my opinion (since I like OS like Linux/Solaris) I would rate MS Windows lesser than Linux/Solaris. No offence to Windows (it’s a great OS and take a lot of hard work and patience to come up with such amazing User Interface – that’s my current profile – UI development) my love has always been Linux… :)
  • And last but not the least, i love the concept of blog (A blog (inshort - a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.) and without which i think i couldnt have "spoken my mind - without any regrets" ha ha ha .... :))

These are the technologies that I have liked so far and one might wonder – this girl hasn’t seen much of the world – but hey I agreed I am just beginning my career in Information technology and “I speak my mind no regrets” remember ??? ;)

Happy new year. ... .. ...

Colours change;
in the morning light, red shines out bright and clear
and the blues merge into their surroundings, melting into the greens;
but by evening the reds loose their piquancy,
embracing a quieter tone
and shifting toward the blues in the rainbow.
Yellow flowers remainbright,
and white ones become luminous, shining like ghostly figures
against a darkening green background.
